At Gene Juarez Academy, we want you to be yourself. Backed by a world-class salon and spa brand in the Pacific Northwest, Gene Juarez Academy strives to equip future cosmetologists with some of the best training in the industry – putting our focus on the student. Whether you want to work for one of our 10 salons or be your own boss, our educators are dedicated to helping students achieve their dreams, while inspiring them with opportunities they didn’t even know existed. In this ever-changing world of beauty, we stay up on trends, techniques, and career paths, adding to the curriculum regularly to meet the demands of future employers.

Our welcoming, family-like environment allows you to serve our community with philanthropic events, use industry-leading products found in salons globally, prep you extensively for the State Board exam, and hear from a lineup of platform artists, salon owners and professionals who share their best secrets for success.

Student-centered training means we focus on what you want out of your license, and we help you get there. Whether you want to work for one of our 10 salons or be your own boss, we are dedicated to helping you reach your ultimate goal. Your “why” is just as important as ours.

New curriculum updates show that we evolve. In an ever-changing industry, we need to keep up with trends and then pass that along to you. Our most recent additions include eyelash extensions and expanded curly hair training to develop confidence working with all hair types and increase your earning potential. Be on the lookout for more exciting updates!

Dedicated educators fill our campuses. They have a passion for the beauty industry and for sharing their knowledge and experience through teaching. They stay on top of the latest trends and techniques through continuing education from Gene Juarez Salons and Spas trainers and our vendor partners such as Goldwell®, Bumble and bumble®, and Ouidad®. This ensures that we provide training that is relevant to what today’s salon clients want and the skills necessary to deliver.

Mentorship from industry professionals within the Gene Juarez organization as well as from leading industry brands such as Bumble and bumble and Goldwell will give you a well-rounded education. The opportunity to learn from a variety of successful professionals takes a student’s educational experience to a whole new level that is invaluable.

Our busy student salon keeps you busy. Once you are on the floor taking clients, you will be able to provide a wide variety of services to a diverse clientele and apply best practices for salon success such as prescribing products for at-home care, asking for referrals, and utilizing social media. You will be able to practice in-demand technical services like balayage and keratin smoothing treatments that are beyond the basic skill requirements to become licensed.  In addition, we will teach you how to use high-end salon technology to manage guest appointments and today’s modern salon operations.

We are a premier American partner in the Green Circle Salons movement! Just as we provide greener alternatives in the beauty products our students and guests use; we also ensure that over 95% of the waste created on campus is responsibly managed.

Experience using leading industry products found in top salons globally such as Bumble and bumble®, Color Wow®, CND®, evo®, Eufora®, Ouidad®, R+Co®, and many others so you know how to identify the best products for your clients during services and to use at home.

State Board Exam Prep is extensive and thorough. Not only is our student’s pass rate amongst the highest, but we also cover the initial exam and test kit costs plus assist in the scheduling of the exams for you to alleviate any unnecessary stress during the process of becoming licensed.

Assistance with job placement starts from the beginning by connecting you with our large network of salon employers at our bi-annual career fairs and during on-campus presentations. Once you get closer to completing the program, you are given the opportunity to participate in an externship with a local salon. We also regularly announce available positions in the region and take students on tours of Gene Juarez Salons and Spas locations so you can explore your options.

Students attending Gene Juarez Academy are not required to work for or are guaranteed a position with Gene Juarez Salons & Spas, Gene Juarez Academy, or the Gene Juarez Home Office when they graduate.

Giving back to the communities we serve is important to us which means you may volunteer at outreach events giving free services to those in need as well as participate in fundraisers benefiting local charities and causes.
