Annually, our cosmetology students see nearly 40,000 clients, offering a wealth of hands-on training with real salon-like experiences, allowing you to seamlessly transition into salon life after beauty school.
After module one, you will be able to take guests on our clinic salon floor and start practicing your craft! Our educators will be there with you every step of the way. You’ll also continue learning new things and hearing from guest speakers to help you build a request clientele and referrals through five-star online reviews.
Students receive a curated assortment of professional quality tools in their training kit that provides all the necessary items to cut, color and style hair, practice techniques for various hair types and services on mannequins, and perform manicure and pedicures. iPads are also included! Our kit sets you up for success while in school and beyond.
Exposing cosmetology students to a variety of top salon professional quality haircare brands is essential to developing a well-rounded hairstylist. Our partnership with brands such as Goldwell® allows you to train with the hair color brand of choice from the world’s top hairstylists. You will also work with a full suite of KMS salon-quality products so you know how to identify the best products for your clients to use at home.
We know there are three important components every cosmetologist must incorporate to be successful: repeat clientele, referrals, and selling retail products. Our renowned curriculum teaches you to effectively apply these practices in real-world experiences on the clinic salon floor.
We will help you build your resume, polish your interviewing skills, and learn how to market yourself. In addition, we provide our cosmetology students with opportunities to network with regional salon employers through on-campus presentations and semi-annual career fairs.
Our externship program is a unique opportunity that allows you to work in a professional salon to earn hours toward your license. Working in a salon before graduation may offer you the opportunity to be hired immediately after getting a cosmetology license.
Graduates of our cosmetology program can be found working at top salons in the Pacific Northwest, nationally from Los Angeles to New York and internationally from Paris to Tokyo. Some have become celebrity stylists, editorial stylists, salon owners, product line educators, industry consultants and more.
Students attending Gene Juarez Academy are not required to work for and are not guaranteed a position with Gene Juarez Salons & Spas, Gene Juarez Academy, or the Gene Juarez Home Office when they graduate.
We enroll applicants who have High School Diploma or GED, meet our cognitive, communication, and physical requirements, and are at least 17 years old. Learn more about requirements and our enrollment process.
