We offer a hands-on Cosmetology training program that includes everything you need to know to be a licensed hairdresser in WA state. You will learn cutting, styling, and chemical processing along with lash extensions and an introduction to manicuring, esthetics and makeup.
The Cosmetology program is 1,600 hours and takes about 13 months to complete.
Classes run Tuesday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Gene Juarez Academy offers financial aid to those who qualify. Our Financial Services team will assist you in determining what financial aid you qualify for and walk you through the process every step of the way to help you understand your options.
Processing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) takes about 3-5 business days once you submit your online application.
Cosmetology program transfer students with prior hours earned may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. We just need to evaluate your official transcripts from your past schools to determine which clock hours may transfer over. Contact us to learn more about transferring to Gene Juarez Academy.
Our dress code allows you to be you! Both our students and staff follow our Deliberately Polished style guidelines which provides the freedom to wear any color and denim while staying true to your personal style. We just ask that you look professional.
Gene Juarez Academy will make reasonable accommodations to students who have religious practices or beliefs that conflict with a scheduled course/program requirement. Requests for such accommodations should be made in writing to the Campus Director within two weeks of the student’s start date. The request must provide specific dates to which the accommodation applies.
No! Our graduates can be found working at salons and with beauty and wellness brands throughout the country and internationally. You can also find many of our graduates working at one of the nine Gene Juarez Salons and Spas locations. While Gene Juarez Salons and Spas do recruit for talent at our Academy, so do a host of other salons and related businesses.
We have programs in place to assist students in finding employment upon graduation by connecting them with regional salon employers. While placement is not guaranteed, you are provided the opportunity to participate in Externship Programs, Career Fairs, and Salon Presentations. We also regularly post job openings on campus.
FAQ’S FOR GUEST SERVICES
You may request a student by name, but we are unable to honor any requests based upon a student’s race, age, gender or level of education and skill.
We accept credit and debit cards for payment of services and product purchases. To minimize touch points, we no longer accept cash or checks.
We no longer sell or accept Gene Juarez Salons and Spas gift cards at our academy.
Our students greatly appreciate tips for a job well done. Since we are now cashless, please plan ahead and bring cash with you for tipping your student artist directly.
Seniors, students, and active military guests receive 20% off any service Monday – Friday. We ask that students and military guests present their ID card at checkout to receive the discount.
Special offers on select products and services can be found on our Special Offers page. Be sure to provide your email address when scheduling your appointment so you receive notifications about upcoming promotions and guest services announcements.
If you are not satisfied with your service, please let us know as soon as possible. We will redo your service at no cost within 2 weeks of your original service date.
We do not allow students to use products on guests that are not carried at Gene Juarez Academy. Be assured that we use the same high quality professional products that are used at Gene Juarez Salons and Spas, such as Goldwell®, KMS and Ouidad.
Services are available for guests aged 5 and older. Parents or legal guardians of minors receiving services will be asked to sign our standard service intake form before the service begins.
We do not charge our guests a cancellation fee but do ask that they notify us as soon as possible if they are unable to make their appointment so we can make your time slot available to other guests.
All services are provided by students in various stages of their education under the supervision of a licensed educator. Due to the learning process, please expect our educators to be involved with comments, redirection, and recommendations. This creative interaction is important to the educational process and may add additional time to your service.
