How long is the program?

Cosmetology program is 1600 hours and takes about 13 months to complete.

Manicuring program is 600-hours and takes about four months to complete.

What is the class schedule?

Cosmetology classes start every month and students attend three days a week — leaving four days a week to balance work, family and friends.

Manicuring classes are offered three times a year and students attend five days a week at our North Seattle Campus.

How do I get started?

Contact us to schedule a one-on-one information session with an Admissions Representative. We want to meet you in person, learn more about your interests and goals, answer your questions, and show you our campus. You will leave with a good understanding of what it’s really like here and if a career in cosmetology is the right fit for you.

What are your admissions requirements?

You must have a High School Diploma or GED, meet our cognitive, communication and physical requirements, and be at least 17 years old.

Do I need prior experience?

No. You just need to have an interest in learning to do hair or nails, meeting new people, and having fun!

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we offer a variety of scholarships for those who qualify. To learn more, visit our Scholarships page.

How long will it take to find out if I qualify for financial aid?

Gene Juarez Academy offers financial aid to those who qualify.  Our Financial Services team will assist you in determining what financial aid you qualify for and walk you through the process so you understand your options.

Processing your free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) takes about 3-5 business days once you submit your online application.

Can I transfer hours earned at another cosmetology school?

Cosmetology program transfer students with prior hours earned will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Credit for previous hours and requirements earned will be at the sole discretion of Gene Juarez Academy. Contact us to learn more about transferring to Gene Juarez Academy.

Do I have to work at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas when I graduate from Gene Juarez Academy?

Students attending Gene Juarez Academy are not required to work for or are guaranteed a position with Gene Juarez Salons & Spas, Gene Juarez Academy or Gene Juarez Home Office when they graduate.

Will Gene Juarez Academy help me get a job when I graduate?

We have programs in place to assist students in finding employment upon graduation by connecting you with regional salon employers. While placement is not guaranteed, students are provided the opportunity to participate in the following: Externship Program, Career Fairs, Salon Lunch Presentations & Portfolio Photo Shoots.  We also regularly post job openings on campus and on our website’s Job Board.
