What training programs do you offer?
We offer a hands-on Cosmetology training program that includes everything you need to know to be a licensed hairdresser in WA state. You’ll learn cutting, styling and chemical processing along with an introduction to manicuring, esthetics and makeup.
How long is the program?
Cosmetology program is 1600 hours and takes about 13 months to complete.
What is the class schedule?
Cosmetology classes start every month and students attend three days a week — leaving four days a week to balance work, family and friends.
How do I get started?
Contact us to schedule a one-on-one information session with an Admissions Representative. This will give us an opportunity to meet in person, learn more about your interests and goals, answer your questions, and show you our campus. You will leave with a good understanding of what the student experience at Gene Juarez Academy is like and if a career in the beauty industry is the right fit for you.
What is a Job Shadow?
This is an amazing opportunity for you to enjoy one of our complimentary services provided by a student in our clinic salon. What are the admissions requirements?
You must have a High School Diploma or GED, meet our cognitive, communication and physical requirements, and be at least 17 years old.
Do I need prior experience?
Not at all! You just need to have an interest in learning to do hair, meeting new people, and having fun!
Do you offer scholarships?

How long will it take to find out if I qualify for financial aid?
Gene Juarez Academy offers financial aid to those who qualify. Our Financial Services team will assist you in determining what financial aid you qualify for and walk you through the process every step of the way to help you understand your options.
Processing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) takes about 3-5 business days once you submit your online application.
Can I transfer hours earned at another cosmetology school?
Cosmetology program transfer students with prior hours earned may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. We just need to evaluate your official transcripts from your past schools to determine which clock hours may transfer over. Contact us to learn more about transferring to Gene Juarez Academy.
What is the dress code?
Our dress code allows you to be you! Both our students and staff follow our Deliberately Polished style guidelines which provides the freedom to wear any color and denim while staying true to your personal style. We just ask that you look professional.
Does Gene Juarez Academy offer accommodations for religious practices?
Gene Juarez Academy will make reasonable accommodations to students who have religious practices or beliefs that conflict with a scheduled course/program requirement. Requests for such accommodations should be made in writing to the Campus Director within two weeks of the student’s start date. The request must provide specific dates to which the accommodation applies.
Do I have to work at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas when I graduate from Gene Juarez Academy?
You have options! Our graduates can be found working at salons everywhere throughout the country & internationally. You can also find many of our graduates working at one of the ten Gene Juarez Salons & Spas locations. Therefore, it’s our policy that students attending Gene Juarez Academy are not required to work for or are guaranteed a position with Gene Juarez Salons & Spas, Gene Juarez Academy or the Gene Juarez Home Office when they graduate.
Will Gene Juarez Academy help me get a job when I graduate?
We have programs in place to assist students in finding employment upon graduation by connecting you with regional salon employers. While placement is not guaranteed, students are provided the opportunity to participate in Externship Programs, Career Fairs, Salon Lunch Presentations & Portfolio Photo Shoots. We also regularly post job openings on campus and on our website’s Job Board.
