Helping Oso Mudslide Victims

Gene Juarez Academy recently held a series of events to help raise money for the Oso Mudslide recovery effort. The two campuses held a clothing and food drive. Together they collected over five carloads of clothing, blankets, household goods and food!

Students and staff also participated in Denim Day. With a $5 donation, they could wear jeans to school — a departure from the salon professional dress code! The academies also donated 50% of their service revenue on a selected Friday and Saturday, the busiest days of the week.

All these events added up to a check for over $6,600 for Oso mudslide relief to the United Way Disaster Recovery Fund for Disaster Relief. This organization gives 100% of the money directly to the recovery efforts.
