What year did you graduate and from what campus?
I graduated from the north campus in August 2012.
Why did you choose a career in cosmetology and why GJA?
I chose cosmetology because of the creativity it brings out of me and the endless amount of opportunity. You can become as big or small as you choose; also it’s an ever growing industry with lot of exciting moments. I chose GJA because I knew the education was top of the line and nothing’s better than having passionate instructors.
What are you currently doing and what other industry related experience do you have?
I’m currently working as a Designer in the Gene Juarez Salon in Bellevue with opportunities to be a part of styling hair for the Sea Gals as well as some other high end celebrities that live in the Washington area.
How did your training at GJA prepare you for the industry and the work you are currently doing?
GJA prepared me for the real world of hair by helping me with being professional and helping me to execute coloring, cutting and styling.
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
One of the most favorite things about what I’m doing now goes right back to the client. I love being around people, making them feel beautiful and building their confidence.
What is your fondest memory of GJA?
My second haircut is my fondest memory. I was scared out of my mind for my first haircut, but I was far more relaxed when it came to the second one. I was able to relax and really enjoy the experience.
