How long is the program?
The cosmetology program is 1600 hours and takes about 13 months to complete.
Do you offer part-time or evening classes?
No, but our 3-day schedule allows students to still have time for work, family and friends.
How do I get started?
Contact us to schedule a one-on-one information session with an Admissions Representative. We want to meet you in person, learn more about your interests and goals, answer your questions, and show you our campus. You will leave with a good understanding of what it’s really like here and if a career in cosmetology is the right fit for you.
What are your admissions requirements?
You must have a diploma or GED, meet our cognitive, communication and physical requirements, and be at least 17 years old.
Do I need prior experience?
No. You just need to have an interest in learning to do hair, meeting new people, and having fun!
Do you offer scholarships?

How long will it take to find out if I qualify for financial aid?
After you meet with an admissions representative, we’ll schedule a one-on-one appointment with a financial representative. Your representative will work with you to navigate the aid process and work with you to build your customized financial plan. We want you to be able to start your exciting career as soon as possible!
Can I transfer hours earned at another cosmetology school?
Due to the unique nature of our program, we accept up to 100 hours earned from another cosmetology school within a two-year period on a case-by-case basis.
Do I have to work at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas when I graduate from Gene Juarez Academy?
No. It is not a requirement to work at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas if you attend our Academy.
Will Gene Juarez Academy help me get a job when I graduate?
Yes! Our graduates are highly sought after. Being a nationally accredited school, Gene Juarez Academy is held accountable for placement services. While placement is not guaranteed, we work extensively to make sure you get placed in your chosen field. We have an externship program with more than 130 salon partners, which provide in-salon training with industry employers.
